My quiet time with God is my favourite thing on this earth, literally nothing beats it. Every idea or impression or conviction that I have about anything in life comes from my quiet time with God.
Even the idea to make this blog came from that place and whenever I neglect it, I go crazy, LITERALLY. I sometimes get anxiety and it only started within the most recent years. I’ve tracked it to see my triggers and I know them now but what is consistent is that I only get periods of very bad anxiety whenever I neglect my devotional life. Even if its just for a week that I don’t do my devotion, my anxiety sky rockets! It’s as if my mind and body knows that I’ve disconnected from my source of life (GOD) and it goes into panic mode. I’ve talked about this in more detail in a video about how exactly I deal with anxiety.
Here are my tips on having your DAILY quiet time with God.
- Set aside time in the morning/evening that is dedicated to your quiet time. The more consistent you get the easier it becomes
- Follow a set devotional if you are just starting out on this journey as this makes it easier and you wont get frustrated not knowing what to do. Some of favourite ones are Amazing Facts, The Bible App plans and EGW devotionals.
- Have some proper prayer time as part of your devotional.
- Write down anything you feel the Lord is saying to you or any ídeas/thoughts’ that come up during your devotional time!
- Do not get discouraged.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up”- Galatians 6:9

What I know to be true is that quiet time with God is the most important thing in your daily routine. God is your source, he is your light, he is your life. Without him there can be nothing. His grace is sufficient for your everyday, it is the Grace Effect.
